I am a member of many social sites, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, just to name a few. It’s tiring going from site to site changing my status, so I use Ping.fm to ping all my status from one location. However up until recently the only way I could do it mobile was by going to i.ping.fm for my iPod Touch, and that wasn’t bad but I wanted an app for it.
Then I found Pingle, an app in the app store for the iPod Touch and iPhone. I’m sure by the name you can tell it’s for Ping.fm, and it works wonderfully. It’s a basic app, the only problem I have with it is that when you put in landscape the Send button disappears, something I hope changes in time. I’m picky with my apps, if I don’t like something in particular I’ll make it known.

Hi,
Like your product reviews and your blog!
I would like to ask a couple of questions.
Since you own an iPod Touch and not an iPhone (I own neither and am trying to make up my mind on what to buy), are there a lot of app’s that only run on the iPhone and not the iPod Touch?
Have you ever come across a cool app for the iPhone that you couldn’t run on the iPod Touch, and if so, what app?
What iPhone feature do you miss the most on the iPod Touch (besides it not being a phone)?
Thanks!
There are some apps that will only run on the iPhone. In the App Store on the device, only the apps compatible with which ever device you’re using will show up. If you look at apps through iTunes you have to read the specs to see if it’s compatible with the iPod Touch.
I’ve only experienced one app that was only available for the iPhone, which really was a bummer. That was Pixelpipe, Loopt used to be only for the iPhone but now is available for both iPhone and iPod Touch.
Well since I never really owned an iPhone I can’t miss any features, but features I’d like to have are the camera, faster processing, and an internal mic like it’s iPhone counterpart. Thanks for commenting!
Thanks for your reply. Very helpful!
I’ve gone ahead and bought an iPod Touch 8GB. I’ve been playing around with it for a couple of hours now and I’m in awe. What a wonderful device! Never seen anything like it!
I do have the creeping feeling that I should have bought the 16GB model though. Will probably have to delete some of my music files as I put more software on the device…
